Muslim-Americans for Obama

Should Obama’s first speech from an Islamic country be in Morocco?

Obama to speek in Morocco

To speak or not to speak:

In keeping up with the latest Inauguration discussions, we are enticed by a topic, coming out of the US, on where President Obama should give his first speech on International Affairs. The basis of this topic is the newly formed campaign, Obama to Speak in Morocco, founded by Hassan Samrhaouni, and The Moroccan American Board, and carried out by Moroccans living in the US.
This campaign is based on our long history of good relations Morocco has had with the USA, and Morocco's peaceful tolerance of living among other religions, other than the Muslim majority. This attribute of being the leader of a peaceful Muslim country, is a huge reason this campaign thinks will entice President Obama, who seeks to bring a fresh perspective on the Muslim religion, asking Muslims all over the world to go in the direction that he has proposed, and to do this with agreement on interests and respect for each other.

Obama to Speak in Morocco, has listed some compelling reasons why the President should choose Morocco as his speaking ground. Morocco was the first country to recognize US as a country. Morocco is peaceful and tolerant and the strongest ally of the US. Morocco is located globally to Africa and the Arab world. Morocco has political stability and is with the US on the global war on terror. This campaign feels these reasons are enticing enough to help President Obama to choose Morocco as its place for this important speech.

As for me, the author of this article, we have heard what Moroccans in the US feel about President Obama speaking in Morocco, but I can't seem to find any Moroccans in Morocco speaking on this subject. Has anyone heard any Moroccans in Morocco speak on this subject and their opinion on President Obama speaking in Morocco? No one knows. Serious investigating is needed to acquire how Morocco feels about President Obama speaking in Morocco. American Moroccans must have the opinions, of Moroccans in Morocco, before they start campaigns that affect their own country. Having said that, I think it would be a great benefit for Morocco, if President Obama spoke in Morocco.
