Watching the Rosa Parks Commemorative Bus leading the Inaugural Parade ahead of President Obama and First Lady Michelle was very moving.

On NPR this afternoon, one of the guests interviewed said: "Rosa sat so Martin could walk. Martin walked so Barack could run." I say Barack ran so we could win. We all stand on the shoulders of those giants. :)

I don't get sentimental very often but, watching all of the events as they unfolded tonight, thinking about my parents, grandparents and others (teachers, mentors, etc) that have "gone home", I will admit to getting teary eyed a few times. Being in Tennessee, remembering National Guard troops on the streets of the city the night Dr. King was assassinated, I never actually thought I'd see this day come to pass. I'm sure that my mentor, teacher and Imam-Imam W.D. Mohammad (may G-D be pleased with him)-is in paradise and well pleased with what we (as one Nation) did tonight.
