The most important thing that (in my mind) veterans of the armed service need ask themselves in regard to the Presidential election is: which one of the candidates will best represent my interests, and, help me and my family while I serve my country? Each and every one of us that took the oath at induction, swore our allegiance to the country and, vowed to give our lives (if need be) in defense of it. In my mind, that type of a commitment from one party, obligates the other party to be responsible (to a great degree) for the welfare of that enlistees person and connected family members. The litmus test could be the treatment of servicemen by the current President http://www.buzzflash.com/analysis/03/11/ana03304.html, and, which one of the two candidates support him. What are your views?
As salaamu alaikem. Brother I actually had a brief conversation with you on the other site, trying to find the link for the W. Deen Mohammed article. It's ironic that Sen. Obama better represents our interests than Sen. McCain. I appreciate McCain having gone through the horrible experience of having been a prisoner of war, something must of us have never had to go through. Having said that, being a prisoner of war should not be the answer that has to be worked into every conversation he has.
