CANVASS YOUR HOOD (I will be doing this in my neighborhood).
Something I learned while doing voter reg is that our low-income, communities of color get ignored around election time. Many people had not registered even that last week and many people had questions about where to go to vote. If you can come out to Brooklyn or go to Wash Hts/South Bronx to get out the vote, please do. Otherwise, just go around in your own neighborhood. Make sure everyone knows where to go to vote! Polls will be open from 6AM-9PM. Email me at fatimashraf@gmail.com and I will send you the PDF of a get out the vote postcard that you can print, copy, and hand out as you go door-to-door.

-- NYC Teamsters, 216 W 14th Street between 7th and 8th Aves, ACE to 14th or 2/3 to 14th. 5:30PM-9:00PM. Bring cell phone, charger.

CALLING MUSLIMS
I am bribing you all with food at my place. Bring your cell phones and chargers and I will feed you. Comeon, you know you have weekend minutes to spare!! I have lists that CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations www.cair-ny.org) has provided, so let's call the Muslims and get out the Muslim vote! Please come even if you're not Muslim, it's fun as anything, guaranteed! This is non-partisan calling, we cannot endorse a candidate, but we can be enthusiastic about everyone going to vote!

It is essential that you be part of the Get Out The Vote effort. It's really as simple as going around your neighborhood and reminding people where their polling site is. OR you can sit down and email and phone call everyone in your address book. If they are out of NYS, take a moment to google their polling location for them. You'd be surprised how many people in your family/friends network you can get to the polls simply by doing this easy task for them.

1. Volunteer for Voter Protection: http://www.nydlc.org/live/signup.php
2. Work the polls with the board of elections: must submit application by Friday. http://www.vote.nyc.ny.us/pollworkers.html
3. GOTV for Barack: http://my.barackobama.com/page/s/nygotv. The campaign will send you more info directly.
4. GOTV in Philly. If you are interested in traveling, please let me know (fatimashraf@gmail.com). We can roll together. You will need to vote at 6am before leaving. We will return by 7pm so we can go to a watch party.
