About Me

I am an African-American Muslim who is a international journalist and ESL teacher. My husband is from Ghana and we both supported Obama all throughout the elections. I am very acitve both politically and Islamically.

Why I support Barack Obama

Because he is very intelligence and he is a big breath of freash air after all the suffering we have had as Muslims America after 911.For him to be both African-American and have an Islamic background I can finally say here is someone in the White House who reflects me. It is something to be proud of especially since my five year old son can look at him and be proud to be an African-American male.

What Issues are Important to Me

restoring the international image of the US. Muslims both here and other countries being able to practice Islam without limitations

,I think what Mr. Samir is doing here is illegal. He is trying to use his "muslim" status to pull at the heartstrings of someone living here. I feel as though if he loves his fiancee so much he should have her come live with him until the situation is resolved.
He is asking for a co-signer, I do not want to question the integrity of Mr. Samir but unless we are very close to the person and know how responsible a person is we should never co-sign for ANYTHING. Mr. Samir can come to the US and maybe not find work and his fiancee not find work, request public assistance and the CO-SIGNER ( this is what he is asking for) would be responsible for paying his bills back to the goverment while he dissappears silently into the crowds.
I do not think that being muslim automatically grants someone a " responsible" status as much as I would want for this to be.
I think Mr.Samir is asking for people to put up their credibility and credit and he has no idea how important that is here in America.
This seems almost like a fishing scam to me??
