About Me
Born, and raised in northwest Ohio, to two wonderful Muslim Americans from South Asia. For as long as I can remember my mother and father have been politically engaged. They have worked hard and consistently to realize a more free, more fair and more just society. And they always took us to vote. While my siblings and I were taught to cross the finish line, we were more importantly taught to make sure a whole lot of people crossed that line with us. I admire my parents' politics and their personal choices. I hope to play a similar role in the lives of my children.
Why I support Barack Obama
Barack Obama has redefined what it means to be an American. And WE have a place in that definition.
What Issues are Important to Me
The Environment, the Economy, Healthcare, Education, Civil Liberties, Foreign Policy

Why I Joined Obama's Faith Council

Why I Joined Obama's Faith Council

Yesterday, I got to hear him talk about it in person in the Oval Office. I had the honor of being named to President Obama's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

The group includes prominent pastors like Joel Hunter, faith-based social ju… Continue

Obama and the Muslim World: Building a New Way Forward

After eight years of the Bush administration, the Arab and Muslim world and many others in the global community greeted an Obama presidency with great expectations. Obama himself in his inaugural address subtly distanced himself from the Bush legacy and expressed the desire that America re-emerge as a global and… Continue

President Obama puts heat on Republicans

From the Los Angeles Times
Obama puts the heat on Republicans
He says the 'half steps' now urged by the GOP for the stimulus bill are the same ideas that led to the financial crisis.
By Peter Nicholas

February 5, 2009

Reporting from Washington — President Obama abruptly changed tactics Wednesday in his bid to revive the economy, setting aside his bipartisan stance and pointedly blaming Republicans for demanding what he cast as discredited "piecemeal measures."

Obama's comments were a marked d… Continue

Salam alaykum.
Why is it that on the home page, the only blog posts that are shown are yours?
Is it really a good idea to have "featured" blog posts?

ASa;

I MUST FIND THAT BLOG ! WHERE IS IT--CAN YOU FIND OUT? ( The reason I ask is that I have a very good friend who has been writing in that same vein--about the leadership since W. D. died.-or rather , the lack of leadership.) I sure would appreciate it if you can tell me that.
Many thanks.
